Stone Sculptures

What these stone sculptures mean to the artist

Welcome to this section of the website with stone sculptures. She received her training at two Arts Academies, in Arnhem and the Hague (Netherlands) for gold- and silversmithing. In 1994 she turned her attention to sculpting in order to express herself in her chosen subject matter, the Arche or Origins of fundamental topics in our human life, the human proportions of sculptures and to work with stone: the skin of our planet. Stone has been around for eons and timeless or ancient issues serve it well: birth, death, learning, reading, writing, dreams, poetry, the universe, love, our past and present, Origins of shapes and forms, directions, natural beauty, sound, pain, connections, planets, symbols, and God.
These stone sculptures demonstrate pure beginnings, they behold the roots of our existence. It creates a timeless contemplation about feeling and learning  processes, it‘s consequences and the way forward. Feelings for stars, the universe. The pure, unadulterated state shows us the beauty of the Origins of life, it is emphasized and elevated in these stone sculptures. This ancient material bears historical witness to topics which are existentially important to us.
